In many industries, October is a big conference and business meeting month. It’s ahead of the holiday season just far enough to give executives in charge of spending the rest of their annual budget or planning next year’s budget a chance to get out to the show and gather information.

If you’re a vendor, planning for your conference appearance should have started months ago, but there is still time to do some basic before-the-show promotion that might get you more meetings at the upcoming event.

There are a number of things we recommend our clients do in advance of a show to make it easier for their marketing departments to line up good meetings for their executives.

The first of these is setting up a good landing page specific to the upcoming show. Adding a page to your site that is SEO optimized to show up when prospective attendees search the web for information about the show is a good way of getting some attention prior to the event.
